Calling All College-Cons!

without comments

Conservative students and groups often complain about being treated
inequitably on campus, or feeling like they are all alone in their
convictions. The Prince Arthur Herald, Canada’s only center-right national
student newspaper, aims to change that by giving conservative students a
voice and community that will respect their opinions and stand up for their
rights, along with the rights of all Canadians.

Started by a group of predominately McGill students, The PAH in less than
two months of operation has received tens of thousands of hits from across
Canada. As a result, the editors have decided that a nationally-read
newspaper deserves to be written by students from across the nation. As an
Ontario Desk Editor, I am recruiting students who are interested in writing
a regular 500 word column. Columns don’t just have to be about politics
(although they can be) as the Herald also addresses subjects ranging from
campus life to culture, finance, sports, health, law, and more.

Those who control the message, control the debate. Without a friendly
media presence that values excellence in communications while addressing the
hard issues of our day, conservative students will continue to struggle to
be heard and respected on campus.

This is a fantastic opportunity for conservative students to make their
voices heard, while gaining valuable experience working for a national
student newspaper. If you are interested in being part of this, please
contact me at missmarprelate@gmail.com or through Facebook.

Nooobody Expects.. The Canucki Inquisition!

“Essentially what they were investigating was something that was public knowledge and then inferred conclusions that these faith statements were stifling the academic atmosphere, without ever conducting an empirical review. They have reached a damaging conclusion that discredits our schools.”

And weary freespeechers may say “They got a stern warning about being naughty– enough freespeechery for now!” So we fold our hands and sleep.

~ THE STATUS QUO-ITES are coming out fighting, in a new submission to the parliamentary Commission reviewing Section 13 of the Human Rights thing.

So now LEAF– or, The Women’s Legal Education and Action Fund– is a radical busy-body group who’ve minded business in many court cases, including some notable human rights debacles.

Their latest intervention is interesting for two reasons.

(1) It’s legally pretty, with all the proper footnotes, citations, and precedent-speak which is part of our legal tradition, even when radical things are being done. The equivalent is a scholar’s paper loaded with the right terminology, bits of Greek, Latin, German, and piled high with footnotes. It’s black tail and tie, with bells on, and partly a comfortable appeal to the lawyerly sort who largely populate parliament and her committee ranks. It shows the nanny-squads are getting worried, and bringing out their big words, and clearest case.

~ SO WHILE THE AD/HD news-cycle has moved on (Teh Obama having spoken), the bodies are still piling up in in the pre-dug graves outside Tehran. Many are in hiding, others in dungeons, others being tortured and/ or paraded in front of Mullah-TV to denounce the pre-approved enemies-list of Zionists, agitators, anything and anybody else than the ones with bloody hands.

It would be all so lame and giggle-worthy, were it not for real suffering now firmly behind the clerical curtains once again– we’ve all seen too many tinpot types and their various Baghdad Bob regime mouthpieces telling us the official lies we’re not supposed to believe. Yet again, our blood-stained media has chosen to look the other way, back to bread/ circuses/ pop culture ‘essential’ news.

But it’s not back to usual: this was Twittered, and an ancient people like the Persians have very very long memories, having been around for 6000 years and more. Further– and according to the Prophet Joe Biden’s schedule– six months in, and Glorious Leader/ Messiah has indeed faced two world-scale international challenges to his largely autopilot foreign policy, and failed. A mix of mumbles, hitting false notes, a disturbing lack of real and fitting emotion, topped off with the usual pandering that has much of the world scrambling to protect itself, disinvest in the U.S., and nuke-up before the bad guys have all the toys.

The Biggest Conspiracy Ever?

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_NMu1mFao3w&fmt=18]

~ WHO FLIPPED THE SWITCH, EXACTLY? The world economy nearly died on Sept 18, 2008. “Electronic Run On Banks – $550 Billion Withdrawn In 1 Hour, Federal Reserve Halts Withdrawals – US Economy Would Have Collapsed.” Now we find out. And go and read Deb Gyapong. This was deliberate. And Porkulus is the result. It’s an economic assault, by unknown assailants. Whodunnit? Who just captured and crippled the American Economy with a Trillion in needless debt? …. (atlasshrugs2000)

Says Rep. Paul Kanjorski –

“On Thursday at 11:00 a.m. the Federal Reserve noticed a tremendous draw-down of money market accounts in the U.S., to the tune of $550 billion was being drawn out in the matter of an hour or two. The Treasury opened up its window to help and pumped a $105 billion in the system and quickly realized that they could not stem the tide. We were having an electronic run on the banks. They decided to close the operation, close down the money accounts and announce a guarantee of $250,000 per account so there wouldn’t be further panic out there.

If they had not done that, their estimation is that by 2:00 p.m. that afternoon, $5.5 trillion would have been drawn out of the money market system of the U.S., would have collapsed the entire economy of the U.S., and within 24 hours the world economy would have collapsed. It would have been the end of our economic system and our political system as we know it.”

Is this true? What are the rest of the facts?

“It is evident, though, that the rights recognized and expounded in the Declaration apply to everyone by virtue of the common origin of the person, who remains the high-point of God’s creative design for the world and for history. They are based on the natural law inscribed on human hearts and present in different cultures and civilizations… Experience shows that legality often prevails over justice when the insistence upon rights makes them appear as the exclusive result of legislative enactments or normative decisions taken by the various agencies of those in power. When presented purely in terms of legality, rights risk becoming weak propositions divorced from the ethical and rational dimension which is their foundation and their goal.”

~ Joseph Ratzinger, Benedict XVI ~

Warman Wednesday, by Mark Steyn
